Criteria for photos

1. OBJECTIVE

These criteria are intended to ensure that the photos you send are usable and secure for your teleconsultation.

2. GENERAL CRITERIA FOR MEDICAL PHOTOS

• Clarity: the photo must be clear, well lit, without blurring or glare.
• Framing: only the affected area should appear (avoid unnecessary areas).
• Lighting: use natural light or good artificial lighting.
• Distance: neither too close nor too far away. Provide 2 photos if possible:
  • An overview.
  • A close-up.
• Neutrality: remove jewelry, nail polish, makeup, or accessories that obscure the area.

3. SPECIFIC CRITERIA DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION

• Skin (acne, rashes, lesions, burns, moles):
  • Take 2 photos (1 close-up and 1 overview)
  • Add a comparison photo if several areas are affected

• Nails:
  • Nails should be clean and free of polish.
  • Include at least 2 adjacent fingers/toes for comparison.

• Throat:
  • Photo with mouth wide open, with flashlight directed toward the back of the throat.
  • If possible, ask someone else to take the photo.
  • PHOTO EXAMPLE (throat) or (mouth)
• Scalp/hair:
  • Part hair with a comb to see the area clearly.
  • Use good, direct lighting.
  • PHOTO EXAMPLE (scalp)
• Teeth/mouth:
  • Use strong lighting.
  • Include the tooth or area in question and the surrounding teeth.
  • EXAMPLE PHOTO (throat) or (mouth)

4. CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

Photos and documents must be sent exclusively via Pomelo (secure platform).

Do not send them by email, text message, or social media.

The images will become part of your confidential medical file.

6. REFUSAL OF TREATMENT

Your appointment may be refused or rebooked if:

• The photos are blurry or do not meet the above criteria.
• The photos are incomplete and inadequate.
